At Bluewater Mortgage, giving back is part of who we are—from a friends-and-family initiative to a growing neighborhood movement.
What started as a humble initiative among friends and family has grown into a cornerstone of our community outreach. Every year, we connect with our Etobicoke neighbors to combat food insecurity through our annual Neighborhood Food Drive.
The Bluewater Process is Simple:
Distribution: We provide neighbors with our signature Blue Bags and a list of most-needed items.
Collection: One week later, our dedicated team of volunteers picks up the filled bags.
In the last three years, the generosity of our community has more than tripled. Our collection totals tell the story of Etobicoke neighbors, friends and family that come together to support those in need:
2023: 1,700 lbs.
2024: 4,200 lbs.
2025:5,128 lbs. (Our biggest year yet!)
Why We Do It
According to the Daily Bread Food Bank, client visits reached a crisis level of over 3.75 million in 2024—more than 4.5 times pre-pandemic levels. High housing costs and inflation are pushing more households into poverty.
Like Daily Bread, we believe that food is a human right. As mortgage professionals, we see firsthand how skyrocketing costs affect families. By taking the “hassle” out of donating—just like we take the hassle out of mortgages—we make it easier for our neighbors to support those who need it most.
